Mathematical Bridge Cambridge
This is one of the most impressive constructions in Cambridge, built entirely from straight wooden timbers, a really sophisticated way to build a bridge. It’s not only impressive but very beautiful. It was one of the wonders of Cambridge when I was an art student and I was often drawn to recreate it in my studies, so I really enjoyed recreating it as part of this collection. I applied daubes of acrylic to the board, using a palette knife to bring out the details of the subject. This painting is part of the Cambridge Collection, a group of paintings where I have chosen my treasured and most valued places in Cambridge.Palette knife/acrylic on board.
