Clare College Cambridge

This college is the second oldest in Cambridge, built in 1326 it is a building of exceptional architecture and historical importance. I feel that the tree in its autumnal glory creates a great contrast to the background form and colour. I applied daubes of acrylic to the canvas, using a palette knife to bring out the details of the subject.

This painting is part of the Cambridge Collection, a group of paintings where I have chosen my treasured and most valued places in Cambridge. Palette Knife/Acrylic
