Bridge of Sighs Cambridge

from £45.00
During my younger years, I spent many hours admiring the intricate Victorian Gothic style of the Bridge of Sighs. I love the history of the poet Lord Byron visiting it on his Grand Tour in the 19th Century and referencing it in his book ‘Childe Herold’s Pilgrimage.’ I applied daubes of acrylic with a palette knife as I feel as though this brings out the intricacies of this historical structure. Since creating this piece I have visited the bridge of Sighs in Venice which has made it feel even more special now.

This painting is part of the Cambridge Collection, a group of paintings where I have chosen my most treasured and valued places in Cambridge. Palette knife/acrylic on board.

This framed poster, is printed on thick matte paper. The matte black frame is made from wood from renewable forests.
